My English Reflection Journal

On Tuesday, 10 Feb 2009, I borrowed a book from the library. I'm still reading the book now, because it's pretty long. The book is called 'Interworld'. It's a very exciting, and at times sad, book. The book is about a boy named Joey. He just learned that he can Walk, but not, you know, normal walking, he can Walk between worlds. He discovers that he is very powerful and gets himself into danger. Then Jay, a 20 year old version of Joey, who is also a Walker, saves his life. But on the way to the Walker base, Jay dies in the jaws of a venomous centipede-shark-dino monster. Joey carries Jay's body to the Walker base filled with different versions of Joey from different worlds. Well, thats as far as I got.

Science Expo

In grade 5, we are doing a science expo. For the science expo, we are making a cardboard electricity generator. Truthfully, I don't think that our project will work. This is partly because, 1: the magnet that we are using is so powerful that it can make you bleed, and Im quite sure that it won't turn because it is so powerful, and 2: I don't think that we'll be able to find the specific small light bulb that is needed for this project.

Sharing the Earth

I think sharing the earth means that we live on only one earth so we have to share the planet with all the other living things because we are all connected. Thats called, 'interconnectedness' or 'the food chain' and without each other we can not survive. For example, the frog eats the fly, the snake eats the frog, the mongoose eats the snake, the tiger eats the mongoose, and when the tigers die the vultures eat them. Then, when the vultures are done, the leftovers are taken by bugs and turned into fertilizer for the plants. Another word for this is called 'the circle of life'.
